This is a quote by Michelangelo, someone whose art has always inspired me: “Lord, grant that I may always desire more than I accomplish.” To me, this means striving to be the best I can be within my abilities and also, to share my talent with others in a meaningful way.
I take great pleasure in painting life whether in studio or plein air. When I am commissioned to paint or someone buys a painting of mine I am honored and thrilled that my heart and soul poured into that work has been a blessing to someone else and has become a part of their life. I am mostly self-taught , but I have taken instruction from several well-known plein air painters over the past few years. I am constantly learning new things about life and art, and my desire is to continue painting in a manner that will be beautiful, regardless of the era in which it was painted. My God, my family and my country are my inspiration and I hope you enjoy these paintings as much as I enjoyed painting them,
Last year, I was blessed to be part of an online art fundraiser for the Artists of Lahaina after the devastating fire that destroyed many lives. I was one of many who gave their time and talents to help others with my art.
